Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

My printer, when you put in a new print cartridge or reset the printer or something of that nature then goes on a very long cycle of shooting out sheet after sheet of paper, printing 1 or 2 lines of gibberish (various alphanumerics and wingdings). It's been happening for years now, over 2 different computers, so I'm not sure if its a problem with the computer or the driver that comes with Windows.

Any suggestions? This thing will go through 100 sheets of paper doing this before it ultimately stops.

Laser? Which printer?

I have a Lexmark E234. Whether I was printing hundreds of PPT slides or just one page, my printer used to do the same thing in BOTH Windows and Linux. New drivers eventually fixed that in windows only.

Hmm, in that case I don't know. I assume you have the latest drivers?
