Nice
. Looks like a bit of a cross between BfME base-building and Total War world map. The outlining of selected units is neat. The shadow maps really don't like the cinematic camera movements. Units turn instantly which looks weird particularly for siege equipment. Units marching in synchronised formations look good.

I agree with you Philip. I like the map and the zooming potential with the great LOD system they have going. But for cinematics they need to implement a new higher res shadow map or something, because that flickering is unacceptable. I like how in 0 A.D. units have a "turning radius" -- it's something they need to add to DoF too.
It'll be interesting to see what people think of their console control scheme. I've never played it on console, but Battle for Middle Earth II apparently had a good console control scheme going and proved that you could play RTS on a console. We'll see.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
I'll definitely pass them along.
Not sure what's going on with the flickering shadows. I'm guessing it's a result of editing to speed things up, but you won't see that in the game. This video was never really meant to be released (a publisher requested a video showing some of the highlights before their next meeting) so it was just a really quick job - I believe our Producer actually recorded the footage in an internet cafe while he was away visiting another publisher. But it turned out pretty good and we went ahead and released it as we haven't released a trailer in ages. We'll start work on some actual trailers shortly.
We are also in the process of greatly expanding our art department, so we hope to implement cinematic models and many more animations to make everything smoother.
Thanks again!

Yeah it looks really awesome!
And I hear it's near completion? That's even better!
Good luck and keep up the good work!

Aw, man. I wish my Mac could play it. I've been keeping tabs on this game for the last couple years, though. It looks like awesome!
