I like what you did with the Main Menu and backgrounds, notsomuch with the in-game GUI though. :)

What I particularly like as a design element is the red stripe down the center of the main menu bar (perhaps remove the legion signant from the bottom). I also like the backgrounds. It inspires me to experiment. Do the statue and Persian relief move in the background?

I don't like the particular backgrounds chosen for the UI, but I completely agree that they should be more ornate than the dull blackish color they are now. (In fact, it was the first thing that struck me as being out of place when I first saw screenshots from the game.)

Might already be planned, though.

Here's a Persian bg I came up with after messing around a bit. Also attached are the Immortal reliefs cut out and put into a photoshop file.

Yay. I am able to see the backgrounds, Mythos. They Rock Posted Image

And, forgot to mention that I also love the red strip in the main menu concept proposed by Lion.Kanzen. Makes the screen a little more colorful Posted Image

I can't really get around the ornating of the UI. The less ornate, the more immersive. I liked the black tiling just fine.

The red stripe and the new over-contrasted icons in particular just don't do it for me.

I like but the icons are over-contrasted.
