Well many of you might know my brother's AoK mod "Battles of Middle Earth".

He finished a number of new things recently, which can be seen on his website:

http://www.vanacreative.com/bome

Finished things include:

Thangorodrim
Orthanc
Argonath
Mallorn
Mallorn with Flets
Mordor Castle
Mordor Blacksmith
Mordor Archery Range
Mordor Barracks
Mordor Houses
Mordor Monastery
Mordor Dock
Hobbit Hole

And there is a new screenshot of the Argonath in a cool game setting.

So check it out!

Wow, I've been following that for a while, it's good to see updates.

The argonath look extrememly cool, so does everything else, and the Rohirrim Castle is done very well.

One question for him though- isn't thangorodrim so big that people will walk into it and it'll look wrong? It's kinda hard to explain exactly what I mean.

but looks awesome!

Yes, that's correct AFAIK.

Good I'm glad you like them, because he asked me to help him with the design of it, and that's how I'd like them to look for TLA :)

wow nice update ... but ... err ... [purist-mode-on] the Argonath are described as to have AXES not spears [purist-mode-off] :P

i like the mallorn trees :P

orthanc looks good apart from the top (which should have 4 pointed-thingies) :P

and Thangorodrim :P ... lookie lookie ! :)

lol, I had no suitable axe props so I asked my brother if he'd rather the model have swords or axe-like halberds, and he wanted the halberds :P

@Enarwaen - it wasn't clear in the text (at least in TTT) how many horns Orthanc had, but it was definitely more than one.

He's going to redo it with four though, and add a "roof" or some type of platform to its pinnacle where perhaps the owner of the tower could imprison, say, a wizard :)

New Updates on his mod:

http://www.vanacreat...bome/media.html

He just finished an Edoras Map, which is quite accurate to the books, complete with correct numbers of barrows in correct places crowned with Simbelmynė  He's got the fords of Snowbourne, several farms, his original Rohan tall grass, and the Golden Hall!

There is a mapshot and several supplementary screenshots to boot.

Also of note are the unit updates in the units section.

He's currently working on a balrog, olog, and wyrm of morgoth :P

Dude Draugaers mod is awesome. Definately something to rival the Middle Earth Total Conversion, and "tide me over" till TLA. Adam, didn't you say he's your twin?

WOW. Simply beautiful. I just checked up on it today and wow. The new buildings for Gondor are just awesome. I think his Barad-dūr is one of if not THE coolest buildings ever. Tell him he is doing an awesome job for me.

Too bad Adam's bro can't find time to drop by here so we can tell him our thanks. :)

BTW Adam: How much of the look of BoME (basicaly how the buildings look like) will make it to TLA, if at all?

@av nefardec, you're brother is a purist right? Because it is good to see Barad-dur without that stupid glowing eye atop it. I know it looks cool in the movies, but I think Tolkien was being more figurative when he described the Lidless Eye, etc.
Oh yeah, and tell him that his work is f..ing fantastic!
