I bought "Unfinished Tales" and on the inside of the back cover is this book displayed called "Roverandom" written by J. R. R. Tolkien, edited by Christina Scull and Wayne G. Hammond. There is a winged dragon above a half moon on the cover.
So does anyone knows this book and/or what it is about?

I have that one ... it has got nothing to do with Middle Earth I haev to say ... it is a short novel, I might say ... with 5 illustrations by Tolkien in it. Tolkien wrote it for his second son, Michael, who in 1925 had lost a black and white metal toy dog on the beach and was very upset. It deals with a real dog who was transformed into a toy by a wizard and has many adventures ... he goes to the moon, under the ocean, etc ... it is fun to read but you can feel it was written for a child.
Hope I have answered your question.

It did thanks
! Though I'm wondering now why a dragon was displayed on the cover
...
Guess that has to do with the marketing strategy from the publisher.

No No ... at one point, Roverandom and his friend Moondog have wings (can't remember why) and the White Dragon chases them ... that's why ... if you look closely, you can see the two dogs on the right of the image

I do see that the dragon is white and yes there is a dog (only one, so I guess I've a different image) being carried by a bird. Makes more sense now, thx again

Well, it's nice, something closer to Farmer Giles of Ham, than to the ME saga.
