I mainly skin regular Warcraft III units for LotR based maps (which isnt very hard, if any of you do play wc3, I'm NuklearPanda, and I skinned for Ring Wars, War of the Jewels, and Battle for Middle-Earth), but I've done some work for a Tauren race mod thats using only brand new models, heres a few textures I've done.

This is the Plainstrider, its a hero unit that can switch between using a spear and axe combo, or a bow.

This is the horndriver, its a siege unit using a large horn as a ram.

Edit: And yes, I've read The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, And the Lays of Beleriand. ;)

I can't speak for the team, but why not post some textures of Tolkien inspired design?

That way you will have more chance to be accepted for help.

You can use these concept artwork section for inspiration: http://www.wildfireg...a/concepts.html

"Christopher was always much concerned with the consistency of the story and on one occasion ... interrupted: 'Last time, you said Bilbo's front door was blue, and you said Thorin had a golden tassel on his hood, but you've just said that Bilbo's front door was green, and the tassel on Thorin's hood was silver'; at which point Ronald exclaimed 'Damn the boy!' and strode across the room to make a note."

I think Adam would say that TLA is still in it's conceptional stage, and that texturerers are yet not to be hired. When the time is ripe, the team will accept texturerers (I can't seem to find the wright word), but only when they can work for TLA alot, and those with much experience.

Ah.
That would explain why my application was being ignored.

Modellers are also not to be hired yet I suppose?

Heres some LotR based work (mind you I dont work with the best UVW wrappers so some of the undetailed parts are applied to very unseen parts of the model)

@Halcyon

Welcome to the TLA Forums! if you really want to contribute towards TLA be sure to fill out our application form:
http://www.wildfireg...pplication.html

however please be aware that it is currently too early to hire any kind of texturers, 3d artists and so on because we're currently still in the development phase where we create the design document (should be done by the end of the year) - but after that we will definitly stock up on artists, texturers, programmers, scenario designers and what not.

if you apply now, rest assured that your application will not get lost but will be evaluated when the time comes for the team to expand.

in the meantime i'd suggest you get familar with the game and the information we've released so far and on top of all ... just enjoy your stay at the WFG forums ;)

Darn.

Well, could we at least have an idea of whether we will be accepted or not.

I don't want to be eagerly waiting for a reply to my application for a year only to find out that my work was horrible.

Again? You mean not even the second time?

The page told me that you did.

Okay, this is really getting weird.

Hmm......

Do you mind if I PM it to you? I've sent it the normal way at least twice already.

The page is a simple computer script, not a sign of any intelligence ;)

There must be a problem with the app.

Go ahead and PM it or email it to me at adam@wildfiregames.com

I don't think so: we're missing our main web technician these days (dathui): he's plagued by hardware problems. If anyone has to send an application form, just look at the web application form and use that as a template to mail it to Enarwaen or av_nefardec (Bernd and Adam, namely... B) )
Sidenote: those who have artistic talents/aspirations can use the time between now and the end of game design process to sharpen their artistic skills, isn't it?
