Here is something that has occurred to me. I know that each Civ has leaders, and that there can be up to three per Civ. Do the leaders actually play a role in the game (e.g. as units, as individuals within the Town Hall)? Is it possible to be killed? If so, what happens to your buildings/units? Is there succession? Does everything go to the AI (or to a different AI, if the leader killed was an AI)?

I'm pretty sure that your leader is a unit and if he dies you choose between the other two leaders of that civ, there is also some ways of keeping your heros benefits even after he dies, through I think buildings or units.

I suppose you could bring them back... perhaps you could pay a tribute to the Halls of Mandos, to revive a hero.

well - for one ... we are currently revamping some key parts of our game concept ... so please bear this in mind ...

the old concept is/was that we have 3 distinct Leaders for each civilisation - each of them with unique attributes (e.g. boosts economy/battle efficiency and so on)

our new concept encompasses a more broader view on Arda - to be more precise we're currently looking at whole Ages of the Sun. so it is possible (although nothing has been nailed down so far) that we WILL have Leader Succession - especially for the mortal races.

also - if somehow you manage to 'loose' your leader - you will not be able to get them back ... Mandos will be quite unforgiving ...

and please note - there's a distinct difference between Civ Leaders and individual Heroes :D

just a short heads up from the depths of the GD Dept. :D

cheers

May we hope for a R:TW kind of succession?
Loonis Logghe [ aka Mithrandil ]

'Shouldn't we send him a message and call in his help?' Erestor asked. 'It seems that he even has control of the Ring.'
'No, I shouldn't say it that way,' Gandalf said. 'Rather say the Ring hasn't got control of him. He's his own master. But he can't change the ring, nor break the power it has on others.'

No, my name isn't wrong, it's just a combination of Mithrandir and Mithril: look and see: MITHRandI(L/R)

@Loonis ... this is still *TBD* (to-be-discussed) ... but it would be a shame to ignore Tolkien's rich Genealogies ...

That would be a shame indeed. And might I be so bold to hope that succesion and 'rich genealogies' may have a impact on diplomacy...? Just a quick idea, ready to be ignored, but also ready to plant the seeds of inspiration.
