"Historical" prospectives will there be historical-flavor text?

One of the underlying characteristics of the Age of XXX series of games that (together with Warcraft) started the empire-building RTS genre is that every unit, building, and technology in the aforementioned series had a discussion on the historical significance of that building and what it supposedly represents in-game. Frequently, this historical information is one of the most interesting parts of the game from the history-buff player, since the essay is usually more accurate than the game (even the campaigns) itself. Age of Mythology continued this paradigm into the mythological symbolism of its various components. It is conspicuously (and frustratingly) missing from Rise of Nations.

Presumably, since this is a purist game from huge Tolkien fanatics. I hope that the devs implement certain essays regarding the world they create, to support less informed gamers and drive us crazy. We should all probably help by improving the Ardaquenta...
Loonis Logghe [ aka Mithrandil ]
'Shouldn't we send him a message and call in his help?' Erestor asked. 'It seems that he even has control of the Ring.'
'No, I shouldn't say it that way,' Gandalf said. 'Rather say the Ring hasn't got control of him. He's his own master. But he can't change the ring, nor break the power it has on others.'
No, my name isn't wrong, it's just a combination of Mithrandir and Mithril: look and see: MITHRandI(L/R)
"One can only discuss when he can find reason in the other's thoughts, and then still disagree. When one cannot, he argues" -Noilos
"One is intelligent when one wields the following things: critisism on everything, and keen logics in it's purest form" -Noilos
"Philosophy poses the question why, History answers it" -Noilos

The more you help with Ardaquenta the less time we have to spend writing essays, which means more time for actually making the game

Speaking of, how are things going? Activity seems to be way down around here, since I last posted. Which speaking of also, I have had been very busy IRL, doing writing, and honing my design skills

Well, I could add to the Ardaquenta, but what I do is likely to have my particular editorial slant on it.

Why not just include a link to the Ardaquenta on the loading page of TLA? That way players can get information on the world of Tolkien and build up Ardaquenta all at once.
Just a thought

Glad to hear plans for an encyclopedia. I know that was one of my favorite parts of AoE2. Keep up the good work.
