The strength of a style is that it focuses, giving form. The more distinct the style, the greater the strength. The weakness of a style is that it focuses, giving form. The more distinct the style, the greater the weakness.

I understand what you're aiming at, but let me tell you that forum activity is something you should not use as a mean to judge the activity of TLA members (all of them)
Even if it's true that one of the forum's goals is to keep people posted on TLA's development, I see it also as a place where members of this community can get together and talk Tolkien, regardless of what is going on behind the curtains.
Yes, some things should and will be updated, and more information on the game's development posted, and although I do not believe it is one of my responsabilities to do so, I shall positively try to keep an eye on this and keep the site as up-to-date as possible.
However, you know what it would be also super-nice? To see community members taking a more pro-active approach towards this project and, perhaps, do something as crazy as writing articles for the Ardaquenta, submit fan-art, etc....

TLA it's not dead. Things are runnning slowly, but steadly. We've had some IRL issues lately, wich in some cases brought away (and then "back again") some of us. But the project is going on, artwork is drawn, the combat model is squared off, ... etc. etc. etc.
We are focusing on some Campaign missions at the moment (and i'll say no more, for the moment: no use asking for more
Hope this sooths you the scorches a bit...

i can only speak for TLA - as i see it, work on TLA will probably not stop for a long time - since there's so much material we can cover.
we are currently concentrating our efforts solely on the First Age of the Sun - and that alone is an enourmous amount of work.
our first release will be 'Nern Ennorath' - depending on the general state of the game we will publish it in chunks and so the users can download the individual Story Campaigns as they are released by the team.
at that point the community will not only be able to create their own scenarios and campaigns but also to create their own modifications. the game itself will be 'very' mod-friendly.
further down the road we are toying with the concept to create a game mode that takes a look at a more global perspective. but this is still some ways off.
hope this helps!

p.s. the topic title is kind of morbid
