Availability: My schedule fluctuates a lot, I have about 10-20 hours per week available. Six months from now I will be in the middle of my final project at school so my availability will drop off temporarily.
How many hours per week on average do you think you'll have for Wildfire Games? What about 6 months from now?
Age: 26
(Optional) How old are you? Not because it matters, but rather we ask this to anticipate your availability and other factors based on where you are in life.
Occupation: Student
[(Optional) What keeps you busy in your day to day life? Student, work? etc.

Skills and Experience: I have a lot of experience with C++, C#, JavaScript, XML, PHP, and some other scripting languages. I am currently in school getting my bachelor's degree in Game Development. I have written a few games, from the ground up, alone and in teams here at school. I am experienced in writing multi-threaded game engines and game systems in C++. I am nearing the end of my degree, and learning more every day. I have also worked on the side on several Windows applications and have worked in a few level editors, mostly the WarCraft 3 World Editor. I am also knowledgeable in writing tools for game content creation, such as level editors, animation editors, particle editors, etc. I also have some experience writing networking code. I am good at finding solutions to problems and making them happen. I am experienced and capable in all areas of game programming. While gameplay programming is my preferred choice, I would also consider other positions. Anything I do not know I have the resources to figure it out.
What qualifies you for this position? What experience have you had in the past?

Motivation: I have always been interested in games and computers since my first Nintendo and my first Apple IIe computer as a kid. Making games is what I want to do with my life. It is my outlet for creativity, and a very rewarding experience.
Tell us what motivates you to pursue these skills and experiences.
Personality: I am creative, dedicated, and passionate about everything I do.
Creatively describe the way you see yourself in one sentence.

Short Essay: I found out about Wildfire from a classmate. What I have seen so far about the game looks very promising. I would like the chance to work on a more large scale game such as this one. I like the idea of an open source game as well. It is an idea I have considered in the past, and I would like to be part of it. What I seek to gain is the experience of working on a larger game, and seeing it through, something I can put in my portfolio.
How and when did you find out about Wildfire Games? What motivates you to be a part of the project? What do you seek to gain in being a part of Wildfire Games?

Interests and Hobbies: I am usually either working on some side project, or writing an application for someone in my free time. Otherwise, I am out with my friends, spending time with my girlfriend, or playing a game.
Tell us briefly about some of the other things you enjoy doing your free time. We ask this to get to know your background a bit better

Xavier, thanks for your application. Do you attend Full Sail University?

Overall your application looks pretty nice. You mentioned that you have worked on a number of side projects and applications, so I was wondering if you could link to some of the work you've done. Also, what are your plans after completing final project?
Xavier
I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. I have been recruited into another game project, and it does not appear I will have the time to spend on this game that it needs and deserves. I do not want to get involved in something I cannot devote myself to. I will be following the game, and hope to see it finished, as it looks very promising. I am sorry for wasting your time, and I hope you find the person you need for the position.

Sorry to hear. But I'm glad (and thankful) you got back to us and told us about things, plus it's good to see you have the insight not to get involved with too many things at a time. I wish you luck with the other project (would you be able to tell us about it? Would be interesting smile.gif ).
