Position: Gameplay Programmer

Name:
Simon Grinberg
Email:

MSN Messenger:
sluzky2@hotmail.com
Location:
Haifa, Israel
Availability:
10-15
Age:
24
Occupation:
Programmer, GUI development

Skills and Experience:
I've worked on several "virtual" game projects much like this one.
Have programmed some mini games for school/university classes in OpenGL.
I have about 4 years of experience in C++/C# development in a large scale project (non-game related).
I also have some experience in Java, PHP, MySQL.
Also I'm currently studying in a game design/development program.

Motivation:
I've been fascinated by games and game development ever since I can remember myself.
Currently I'm looking to make game development my profession, this is still in the works, and as a part of that, I'm trying to work with what I can, mostly working on online projects.
Personality:
Fun, sarcastic guy, trying to make it in the universe.

Short Essay:
I first came across this project when I was looking for projects in GameDev.net, that time I was looking for something else so I did not join in.
Recently a friend sent me an article about it becoming open-source, which intrigued me, since I have some spare time now I decided to join in.
I'm motivated to join this project to actually get one project right, this time around I think I have enough experience, and it seems that the project is well managed, so it could succeed where other projects I've worked on have failed.
I look to gain some experience in making a full featured game, plus maybe extend my knowledge in OpenGL.

Interests and Hobbies:
I like playing the guitar, drawing, listening to music, hanging out with good friends, subsequently drinking beer.

Staff:
Nope...
Community:
Sarcastic Gamer, Rock Paper Shotgun, Respawn Radio
Favorite Game:
Favorite game at the moment is GTAIV, overall is probably The Secret of Monkey Island.

Hi Simon! I'm from Haifa too. Do you / did you go to the Technion? I'm a Biology student there.

How did you hear about the openings, btw? I've been trying to market 0AD to the Israeli open source community, did that help by any chance?

Nope, I'm originally from the center...

Nope, to tell you the truth, I came by the project through a friend, and I don't know where he got to it.
