Motivation:
I would like to develop my skills and abilities in programming
Personality:
I see myself as an fast learning, outgoing individual.

Short Essay:
I noticed the 0 A.D. project on moddb. After reviewing the website I have decided it looks like an excellent project for me to be a part of and help finish. I hope to be apart of the team because it would give me the opportunity to gain real word experience in video game development. As a graduate with Bachelor of Computer science I am certain I could prove to be a valuable addition to the project. As a recent graduate I would like to start on small simple tasks to acquaint myself with the project and progress from there.
I have academic experience with the following languages: Java, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, XML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, XSLT, MySQL, Oracle.

Among other things I enjoy cycling, swimming, and learning new things. I have a passion for IT, enjoy reading about investing and capital markets.

Thanks for your application. I'm sorry we haven't replied to you sooner, the lead programmer have unfortunately been busy (and sick), but hopefully he'll have time to talk to you soon.

Hi,

Sounds good, no need to rush.

Hi there! Sorry indeed about the late reply - the past 2 weeks been rough (first crunch time, then sick for a week - which is sad, because working under less pressure would surely be more productive *sigh*)

This is on really short notice and I doubt you're going to be awake on time, but would you like to join us at the weekly IRC meeting? (Quakenet #0ad, 1630 GMT, see top-left corner of http://wildfiregames.com/0ad/)
If not, there's always next week, and we can continue here on the forum smile.gif

What kind of things would you be particularly interested in working on? Have you had a look at the codebase yet and compiled it?

Hi

I've looked through some of the technical information on the site. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do any compiling.

Specific areas, I'm really not sure what the options are available. As I mentioned in my bio, I'm a recent grad, I'd be happy to help out where ever needed really.

Do I understand correctly that you just haven't yet had time to try and compile? If you run into trouble, feel free to post on the development forum.

OK, here's a list of tickets that are currently pending: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/query?keywords=%7Esimple
(in fact this is a small subset of the tickets that we believe to be small/simple/self-contained - navigate to View Tickets to see them all)

Since we're all volunteers and not galley slaves, I think it's important to pick something that really interests you (as opposed to "where ever needed"), else it is hard to sustain the motivation required to get things done.

Hi

I have the game working. Played a few rounds to get a feel for it. Some great work.

I'm still interested in helping out. I looked over the tickets, I would like to do some work with networking or if possible help out with ticket #274 first. Sounds like a nice task to get a familiarized with the code.
