Barracks
The
Barracks is the main military building of the Edain.
Here the player can train a multitude of units like
Guards, Swordsmen, Spearmen, Banner-bearers and Bowmen.
After the Barracks are expanded with Stables, a new
unit, the Rider becomes available. Another vital expansion
to the Barracks is the Armoury. Here the player can
research up to eleven different upgrades and four researches
to further improve the Edainic military by either increasing
statistics of units, or providing them with new abilities.

Encampment
This is a building type preferred by the Edain when
on the move. It provides them with tents (which also
add towards the population limit)and a warm fire at
night. Apart from that the Encampment is a civic center
building, which means it defines its own home area and
also functions as yet another resource deposit center.
The Encampment is also home of two very important units:
the Healer and the Ranger. Both have upgrades that improve
their hitpoints and speed, whereas one further upgrade
grants the Encampment itself a Healing Aura in a certain
radius around it. Another crucial upgrade lets the player
enhance the Rangers with the “Blades of the Rangers”
ability (thus giving them Melee Attack).

Stronghold
For
securing strategically important locations, the Edain
can build their most advanced and expensive building,
the Stronghold. It is not only the place to research
many high-level military improvements, it is also the
home of the Edainic Captain, a unit that will proof
crucial for any successful campaigning for the Edain.
The Stronghold is also a civic center building, which
means it creates its own home area and can be placed
freely in unoccupied territory and it also can be used
as yet another resource deposit center.

Dock
At the Dock the Edain can build their Fisher and Trader
boats – both limited due to their small size, but nonetheless
important assets towards the Edainic economy. There
are some improvements to be researched which include
things like larger cargo holds, cheaper ship construction
and improved speed for Traders. The Dock of the Edain
is somewhat unique, since it is the only instance of
a Major Civilisation getting access to the waterways
in the First Age at all. The only other civilisations
with naval capabilities in this Age of the Sun are Minor
Civilisations like the Falathrim, Haladin and Drúedain.

Palisade
Wall/Gate
The Edain quickly adopted the usage of fortifications
from their Noldorin allies, although they didn’t exceed
the achievements of the Noldor, they easily surpassed
their brethren who did not enter Beleriand at all. A settlement
of the Edain is usually surrounded by a Palisade Wall
but later in the more troubled times they improved their
fortifications after the manner of the Noldor.

Watch
Tower
Watch Towers were at first nothing more than wooden
platforms to keep watch on the surroundings, but later
they were improved with the growing influence and knowledge
of the Noldor. A Watch Tower can be expanded with either
a Beacon, which increases the tower's line of sight
and allows the tower to notify the player and his allies
of far away enemies with a grand horn blow and a blazing
light. The other possible building expansion is the
Guard House, which basically expands the tower’s base
to accommodate an increased number of soldiers, turning
it into a more offensive part of fortification with
improved line of sight and hitpoints.

Burial
Mound
This is a unique building of the Edain, who preserved
the memory of their fallen leaders in Burial Mounds.
The body of the fallen leader is laden with his weaponry,
riches, clothing and adornments and laid to rest in
his Burial Mound. As part of the remembrance the Burial
Mound emits a boost in Morale (in a certain radius)
that affects all units within its range. That way the
memory of a dead leader still has some influence upon
nearby units.
